Yes, this would be an almost impossible capture due to the fact that the cygnet can fly. It had to come from a local captive setting. If someone can get it to come to their house, feed it and get friendly, then there is the possibility that we would be able to capture it and find it an appropriate home. Otherwise, the cygnet will have to resort to its own survival devices to keep it from predators such as sharks, alligators, bobcats, foxes, people and domestic dogs.

Additionally, many states including Florida do not consider the Mute Swan a native to North America and there is a concerted effort to kill them by state wildlife officials. So, unless someone can get close enough to get the swan to feed from their backyard and stick around, capture is extremely unlikely. The Regal Swan
