In Response To: Fate of cygnet next year (Pamela Allison)

There is a pair of swans in a pond in our community.
The pond is about the size of a football field.
This spring, the pair mated and only 2 eggs hatched, with one of the babies dying after 2 weeks.
The other cygnet has survived is now about 3 months old.
My question is - next year when the adult pair mates again, will they view this year's baby as a threat to their new brood?
There is another pond in the community that we could move the baby to at some point, but wouldn't it be best to have it go through the winter with the adults? They have all had their wings clipped so they cannot leave voluntarily.
I live in southeastern Pennsylvania. The pond freezes over now and then during the winter, depending on the temps, of course.
