First, this is an incredible board with wonderful information! Thank you. We have a pair of mute swans who nest every year. This year, we have 4 cygnets. At some point this morning, I noticed that 3 cygnets are on one pond h the parents and 1 cygnet is by itself on the other pond. (The swans "walk" the cygnets across the street from pond to pond over the course of the day). The cygnet that is by itself seems to be the smallest of the four, but seems active. Is it possible the cygnet was mistakenly separated from its family, or has it been "abandoned" for some reason? I know that the family will cross back over to this pond at some point later today/tomorrow - will they re-accept the cygnet? Is there anything that I can do? If they will not accept it, should I try to get the cygnet and take it to a rehab?
