In Response To: Re: Swan nest got flooded, new eggs appearing (Karen)

Hello. SADLY, after watching this nest, throwing reeds during high tides to help them hang on...the cygnets did not hatch. They stayed to the bitter end, and the babies just were not healthy enough to hatch after being the in the cold water of the new moon tide. SO Sad. I still can't understand why she move the eggs to a lower level of the nest. They would have been above the high tide! Anyway, the eggs died I guess today, and she left them. I am very sad. It was 38 days today. So close.
