In Response To: Number of Swan a 3 acre pond can support? (Lisa)

I will be purchasing a pair of mute swans and their 5 mo cygnet in November and would appreciate some tips on how to best prepare for them. When the parents push away their cygnet at mating season, will a 3 acre pond support 2 pair? Should I get a mate for the youngster this Spring or wait until it is older? And last question, how far apart should I place the aerators in the winter to keep them from fighting? Thank you very much.
