The swans are captive raised but I don't think they take then indoors during the winter. We have a pond aerator so open water is not a problem. I just didn't know if they relied on their parents to teach them how to survive in winter and if he/she won't do well if they don't get that education. Thanks for the help.
I am nervous about collecting the bird myself as I don't want to risk stressing him/her if the corralling doesn't go well. If we choose to keep it on the pond if the neighbors don't collect him/her what would we need to do for their best chance of surviving the winter?
