The egg will explode in the house and will cause an unbelievable smell and mess. Pitch the egg into a pond so that when it does explode you are not attracting nuisance animals such as raccoons, foxes, etc.

Mother swan knows best.She abandons those eggs which she knows are duds. We learned the hard way trying to do exactly what you are doing. The mess and enusing odor that could not be readily extricated from a house was not worth the trouble. Swan eggs are extremely hard to incubate unless you have almost a professional incubator that can rotate and self control humidity and temperature. The Regal Swan
