In Response To: A goose with the swans (Cheryl)

Hello,

There are five swans on the Wye river in Hereford near to our house and they seem to be living in a group....with one lone goose. They are sticking together, with the goose up close to one or other of the swans, feeding with them etc. We have even noticed the goose call out to them and they will join the goose or the goose will swim over and join them. Is this usual behaviour? Why would they live so close together? They are together every single day, and at different times of the day. There has never been a time when we have not noticed the goose in the group. What could the reason be? Many thanks.
