In Response To: Swan likely unable to fly: How can we make him comfortable? (Lucy)

We have a single mute swan, apparently a male as he apperas to be about 40 lbs, swimming in the river by our house. He willingly comes up to me when I call, and takes food from my hand, altho he will not approach any male. We have never seen him fly. What can we do to make him comfortable and safe if he is unable to fly? We're looking into what extra food we can provide and shelter, such as a large box filled with straw.
