In Response To: Swans in Indiana: Were they migrating? (Joan)

I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and last night saw my first pair of swans visit a retention pond behind our home. Is it unusual to find them in this area? Were they migrating?

It looked like they had black beaks with all white feathers.
