In Response To: Swan not being able to nest (Nancy)

We have 2 swans on our pond. They nested last year and had 5 babies. This year people living on the pond (stating they love watching them) have destroyed the first nest and barricaded the best area from last year. Now the swans have not been able to nest. The female looks very heavy. What can happen to her if she does not get to lay her eggs?

Is it illegal to interfere with the nesting process? I live in Sourh Carolina. Thank You
