In Response To: Re: How to care for baby swans after the incubated eggs have hatched (Lori)

Thank you So much for your response! The swans are 1 female and 2 males. We are building another large pond as an addition to our assisted living facilities and were going to place the new swans there. We have had no luck in getting baby cygnets with the current swans nesting and hatching them. In 15 years, only one has hatched and is the 2nd male in the current pond. We are in Shreveport, LA and there is little to no knowledge of swans here! We will hope for the best and maybe have cygnets for the new pond. The current swans are pinioned; we ordered from out of state and they arrived that way. I will start investigating to see if there are any veterinarians here with swan experience! I have enjoyed reading your web page! Thanks for all the info, it has really helped!
