Thanks for the information. The young swan, Peneolope, can fly beautifully and does so when others chase her from my cove. Is it too early to tell if this swan is Polish or Royal? I'm assuming she was born last spring. Most of the swans on my lake are Polish, but I have noticed that the feet of the Royals seem larger, with more webbing between the digits. Is this the case, or am I making a generalization based on the few Royals Ive seen?
Also, at what age does color typically come to the bill? "Penelope" has a grey bill, with just a little orange peeping through.
