Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Young swan still gray (Jo)

I live on a small canal off the St. Clair River in Michigan. We have a few swans(mute) here and every year like to watch the babies swim with the parents. This year there were 3 babies now only 2. I guess the turtles got the other one. My question is why would one of the young ones still be gray when the other one is all white? My self and my neighbors like to feed them bread and whenever the see us they come to eat. Somehow they manage to live here in this vicinity all year round.
