In Response To: Growing cygnets disappear (Janette)

I've watched six cygnets hatch and grow on a local pond, with their parents, since Spring. They were down to five a month ago and now down to four. Are the growing cygnets just leaving to set up elsewhere or is it more likely that something untoward has happened to them? This is in Derbyshire.
