Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Blitz Feeders (Ron In KC)

Ok, I have a fountain in the center of my pond that keeps the water open from the ice, about 4o feet in diameter, it has lights that i leave on all nigft, the waterfowl, ducks and swans, seem to love it for safety. I purchased an aerator to keep the water open to the shore line in winter months so the birds can swim to shore for food. I bought a Blitz feeder to place in the water near the edge. I read on your web site that there are direction on placing the feeder. I can't find it. You say that you have pictures as well. Please help me find that link. I assume that the feeder is mounted on a post near the edge to make it easy for filling, but does the bottom of the feeder have to be in the water or just close to the surface? As I stated before, i just purchased these two mute swans and I am learning, they seem to be adapting well to my place, the next challenge is feeding and careing for them.
