In Response To: humane mute swan deterrent (Melanie)

There is a pair of mute swans in the neighborhood terrorizing everything and everybody. The residents will kill these birds if they don't stay in their own yard. Is there a humane way to deter them from coming into our yard? Our dogs are not safe. I dont want to see them killed but so far the only advice I have heard is to shoot them. Please help. Thanks.
