There is a female swan nesting very near my home. She has 5-8 babies every year about the end of April. However, this year has been extremely cold and snowy. I noticed last week that she was sitting on her nest (March 25) and could see several eggs. I am concerned because it got quite cold again yesterday (it had been in the mid to upper 50s). It started snowing tonight and we are expecting about 6 inches over the next 24 hours. Can swan eggs survive snow and below freezing temperatures?
