i heard that swans are vicious.
THE TRUTH: Not True.

I checked on-line for information about swans. i learned that swans are regal and beautiful creatures that are NOT vicious in any way to humans. If approached in a Park, the swan will hiss, but because they are big, humans tend to react inadversly but the swans are not to blame.

As an example, there was one swan that was People Friendly and she was attacked by a person's dog in the park, and the person walked away from the fatally wounded swan. It was not the dog's fault -- we, who love and own dogs (and cats) need to keep wild creatures safe from our household pets (dogs and cats).

This is where the humans come in: The swan layed beside the lake in the park for more than 3 days without help. Many persons who walked in the park during those 3 days just brought the swan's plight to someone else in the park -- therefore, no one took responsibility for this beautiful animal; ultimatly, the swan was left to die a slow death out in the open in the park where everyone wanted to pass off the plight of the animal to someone else, resulting in the GUILT of all those who passed by that animal and thought 'someone else' NOT ME 'will take care of it.' THIS KIND OF THINKING RESULTS IN SUFFERING OF THE ANIMALS WE PROFESS TO LOVE. IT IS EASY TO LOVE OUR OWN PETS AT HOME; IT IS EASY TO PASS BY A DOG OR CAT IN THE STREET THAT IS IN NEED OF A HOME. THE 'STRAY' YOU SAVE TODAY COULD BE YOUR BEST FRIEND TOMMOROW.!

The wild animals you encounter in the park while walking your dog is a blessing and to be cherised. Keep your dogs and cats safe; Keep wildlife safe.
