Given the ferocity of the windstorm of December 15th, we spent many very anxious moments wondering about possible destruction, and how our swans and all the wildlife were faring.

Animals and birds are more acutely attuned to weather changes, and the swans must have tucked in more protective spots beforehand, because much to our relief the next day, the entire fleet was out to greet everyone with enthusiasm, none the worse for wear!

The Lost Lagoon area suffered as well, with downed trees and other damage, but visitors have been enjoying the peace and serenity that marked the days at the end of 2006 and beginning of this new year, bringing renewed appreciation of all that this special place of beauty means.
