Today is Tristan's first birthday as he was born on May 31, 2005. Happy Birthday!

This morning, Tristan and Isolde were sitting down on the hill, so close together they were touching - with two geese sleeping on either side.

I saw Isolde gobbling up some grain on the ground, with a goose who came over to help himself. Isolde took the goose's neck in her bill and bit down so hard he yelped - "HONNNNNK!" Guess that's Goose for "Ouch!!! She was left with a souvenir clump of brown feathers in her bill, and (I'll vouch for this) a triumphant look in her eye as she cleaned up the remaining grains. What a different swan from the terrified little bird that first arrived!
