One couple of our two breeding pairs of swans has a nest under way!

The high waters from those 23 days of rain in March have subsided, and at last, Lost Lagoon’s Precious and Marlika have started to build a nest in the wetlands area. Yesterday, April 5th, they were both industriously laying the groundwork for Marlika to soon begin laying eggs!

It could be a few days yet, before they’re truly settled, but good old Precious continues to work like a beaver, tugging and pulling at grasses and reeds for the nest.
