Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Un well swan? (Jeanette)

Hi,
I live on the east coast of Tasmania Australia. We have a marsh land out the front of our house which goes down to a bay. The bay has numerous water birds living on it, black swan ducks etc. I have lived here since April. Yesterday a black swan wandered up the fence line to our neighbours property, we saw it wander back down today and just noticed it wandering back up. I am just wondering if it might be unwell as he seems to be ambelling along quite slowly, and at times fumbles a bit, I have never seen another swan venture up this way and it is away from the rest of all the other swans, is it likely he is looking for a place to die?
Cheers
