Bit of an update... it was captured yesterday to be taken to a wildlife centre. I regrettably was not the one who brought their attention to its plight. I had conflicting thoughts and feelings which led to my hesitation, and it seemed to be doing OK in terms of feeding.
I have to ask... what happens when a cygnet is separated from its family in a situation like this? (This is what I was most anxious about). I have an inkling of what will happen with the cygnet, but what of its family? Would they leave an area because of this?
