Pinioning and breeding

Our Zoo has recently received a cob Trumpeter Swan, hopefully to breed with the female pen. He has not been released into the female's pond because of inability to determine if pinioning would adversely affect the ability to mate (or possible "attractiveness" to the female - she actually would only have one choice!)

It seems like there is no problem with your mute swans.

Would this be the same situation with the Trumpeter Swan?

Thanks for your input.
