Swan sitting alone by itself

so there is this swan that left the lake I live on and is now sitting all by itself on the lawn by the road and hasn't moved for 3 days now occasionally it will move. The theory going around is it is depressed because there's only three swans on the lake and two of them are about to become parents. What is wrong with it???
