Cygnet left alone

Hi - We have mute swans who have nested on our big lake for the first time. They had 5 cygnets and lost 2 but recently we have seen the adults for a whole day without the cygnets and now a single cygnet is left on our small lake near the house while the adults are over on the next door lake. Should we try and get the cygnet back to the adults or will he be ok on his own? He hides if we go near and he is eating grasses from the side of the lake and we keep an eye out for crows herons and buzzards. He is pretty small to be on his own although about 2 months old now.
Thank you
Angie
