Mute swan stopped eating bread and seems less active

Hi
Our male swan has stopped eating bread for the last three weeks and seems less active
have not seen him eating our daily wheat feed
the female is eating well,
they have not bred this year, they have 3 very large ponds with islands which they move around on
would welcome your advice
