Thank you for your response. I have contacted the school. They think surgery maybe if broken, but we agree with age not possible. We penned him up for several days, but decided on Saturday to put him back into our pond due to the weather becoming so hot. He has done quite well so far. Swimming and fishing for food off the bottom. He gets out to the side by using his wings and the one leg. I do feed him cracked corn and have for years so I am just going to reteach him a new feeding area so he can feed in a shallow area without getting out of the water. My only worries will be this winter. He does stay in the water, but we do have a couple of coyotes and always the fear of stray dogs. Do you think my plan will work?
