There is a mated pair of mute swans on our lake. They have displayed only love for each other to date. However today, much to our total surprise, the male chased the female and started fighting her. Very aggressive fighting as she was trying to get away. Finally separated, he went to our upper lake while she remains at our house lake. We are worried about this behavior. We have seen him chase and fight Canadian geese, but never her. Appreciate your opinion - should we worry about this behavior?
