Hi Fiona:

We are so sorry for your loss. Know that you did everything humanely for Romeo, but sometimes bird injuries are very difficult to treat. In the case of Juliet, as long as she has other waterfowl in her area, i.e., ducks, geese, etc., we would suggest that you leave her on her own for a while to see how she progresses. Although female swans usually re-pair, there are no guarantees and you do not want her injured by introducing a male that may not accept her. The Regal Swan
