Our development purchased a pair of swans several years ago. After a period of time, the swans have had 3 nests, with viable eggs. Only 3 cygnets survived (hawks, snappers etc.), they are just a year old. I have read that they don't mate until 18 months old. Our elder, male, swan passed away from a bacterial, lung infection (we had an autopsy done).

So....currently, we have the original female, and three, 1 yr old's. Not sure if male or female. They have been fighting and forcing 2, off the property. We have never seen our swans fly more than 10 feet or so off the ground, mostly, they have been walking down the main road and causing much concern as you can imagine! We have brought them back to the water. We are finding it very difficult to get information/help in regard to this situation. Is it possible for these 4 swans to coexist together?

We feed the swans a healthy diet of "Mazuri Water fowl, floating pellets", we have had problems with the Canadian geese (Numerous quantities) flying in to eat the feed. The development has been using a "geese police" service. This service consists of a border collie chasing/starring down, the geese until they leave (never approaching the swans). Do you know of any type of feeding station that can be installed on the edge of the water, to control the pellets from floating about? I have seen stations in the center of lakes/ponds that release the pellets, but this entails getting into a canoe to fill, this isn't an option for us. Your advise and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
