Thank you for your prompt reply. I was out of town, and upon return I was happy to see the female swan seems to be doing fine now! Fencing the area I fear will not be approved by the HOA, so want to look into a new area of the lake for a new sleeping "house". I'm wondering if I purchased a very large molded plastic dog crate, & put it half in & half out of the water, if that would work? predators couldn't dig into the back that way, and it certainly would be waterproof, what do you think? what would I put in it and how would I get her to go into it? Should I still consider buying a female Swan for a companion, or should I just leave things as they are, and try to protect the one we have? Thank you again so much for your information, I greatly appreciate it.
