Hi, I am staying at a resort where there is a pond that has two swan couples. I have been watching them since arriving here over the last couple of days, and they have appeared to maintain the same posture every time I have seen them. In each pair, one swan keeps its head and neck erect; the other swan keeps it's head and neck lowered over the water. I don't see the one with lowered neck ever dipping his beak into the water or eating, or anything except remaining motionless with his head extended over the water. These two swan pairs seem to be mirroring each other across the lake with their head and neck positions. Is there any significance to this posturing? Thank you!
