Hi, we have a family of swans down at our local waterfront. The mom/dad had six babies this yr and they were around for a couple of months for all to see. Now, it appears the family may have gone elsewhere, as the nest sits empty and none of them have been spotted in a few weeks. Is this a case of a family outgrowing the nest? If so, how far will they go to find more space? The family was well fed by locals (I spent time down there telling people to fed them lettuce instead of endless doses of bread)

Are they close by?
