Usually, the female swan is responsible for the primary care of the cygnets while the male swan is responsible for the family's protection and will patrol away from the family. If something happens to the cygnets and the hormone levels return to normal, the parents may separate for a little while, but should reunite. You might check back in 1-2 weeks to see if the pair have reunited. The Regal Swan
