Thanks Regal Swan! Following your advise, the new swan is in a pen on the shore and no doubt anxiously awaiting the end of two weeks. And I'm in the process of building a 4 ft by 4 ft floating island.

The prior owners tell me that the swan had built a nest in their back yard. Does that mean that it is definitely a pen? Or perhaps cobs also build nests?

On a different note, I'd love to find it a mate, but it appears that swans are extremely expensive to buy. That seems odd to me as I've read that there are areas in the US Midwest where swans have become a nuisance. Do you have any advice about where to find a mate?
