In Response To: Black Swans: One is alone, Introduce new swan in bloodline, Can we sell cygnets (Terri)

Hello,

I care for Black Swans at my trailer park. We have six on one pond, 2 "parents" and their four offspring. The four offspring have paired up and the six swans seem to get along well. Now two of the offspring have had their first nest and we have four new Cygnets.

I also have one Swan that is alone, lost his mate last year, and he seems very unhappy.

1. Can I put the new baby swans with the swan that is alone?

2. Can I sell the Cygnets? It would sure be nice to cover the cost of their food. If not, can I find homes for them.

3. Should I introduce a Swan not in the six swans bloodline? (Which would be the case with the swan that is alone.)

Your help would be very much appreciated. I have no background in these things and want very much to keep the Swans healthy and happy.

Thanks
