Returning cygnets to parents after 2 months.

Our mute swans had 8 babies this spring. Two of them were gone by the end of the first week due to snapping turtles. Every year snapping turtles get them within the first 2 weeks. This year we removed the babies from the pond until they were big enough to hold their own against the turtles.

My question is- will the parent swans allow the babies to return to the pond without trying to harm them?

Thank you,

Donna
