I have had my swan for over 3 yrs. he was given to us and he has never gone far from home. He is full grown, his wings have been clipped so he can't fly, he's approx. 5-6 yrs. old and we have never got close to him but about 2 feet away. There is a pond about 3/4 of a mile away which he walked through the woods to the pond. The homeowners will not let me get into the water with my boat to get my swan and he will not come to me. Any suggestions on how I could retrieve him from shore. He will come up to the edge of the pond where I'm standing. I was looking into a casting net???? Animal Control will not help me in any way.
