Springtime and mating season is now occurring. Swans are looking for potential mates and nesting areas. If your swan can find a mate and is within the area, he/she may return. If your area is not compatible for nesting or the swan wants to raise a family in a more secluded area, then it may or may not return. In most instances, since it knows that it has an ample amount of food supplied by you, it may return once the cygnets have hatched and they can fly or find a way to swim back into your area.
