Swan going back in the pond after injury

Hi,

We have a swan that was injured and is now healed. We are getting ready to introduce him back into the pond. He has been out of the pond for 6-8 weeks and only using a baby pool in a protected environment while healing.

Do we need to be concerned about his wings having enough oil? is there anything we need to do before reintroducing him to the big pond?
