Hi Ken:
Thanks for the update. Do you provide the straw for the nest building or are reeds, grasses or other nest building materials available in the area in which she has previously built? This is an important question because swan's will usually pick areas with natural reeds free from predators (although she might not be too concerned in the area even though coyotes are present-maybe because if it does flood the water will prevent access by predators), easy entrance and exit from the nest for the first two weeks by cygnets, no steep banks, food resources, shade or shelter from inclement weather, etc.
So, if there is a better area for her to nest and your straw is the only game in town, it might work to relocate the nest. However, if natural reeds and grasses are available, there is no guarantee that the relocation will work. The Regal Swan
