Ask the Swan Specialist

Should we buy a female for our male swan

We had a pair of Mute Swans in our pond. The female died last spring. So far the male has not found another mate. We are considering buying a female swan from a breeder but don't know if he would accept her. Should we even consider this or just not interfere. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
