I have a mute swan that has returned to my pond in the past week or so. His (or her) orange on its beak is gone. It's a dull white or tan color now. Is he ok? My guess is that he is only 9 months to 2 years old as he is smaller than the pair that has been here for while. They don't like him being here and chase him a way every few days but he usually will just take a nap on the grass around the pond when they do this. It's all a mystery to me but is the beak a concern?
