Scared off for good? Will the swans return to our lake now that the ice melted?

Great website! Thanks for the info.

We are new residents to a small lake in Wisconsin that is home to a pair of swans. This year they returned in March and sadly there was still quite a bit of ice. The swans flew off and have not returned since the ice melted.

Will the swans return? At what point in the year do you lose hope they will return for the summer?
