Hi Matt

There are any number of reasons that the swan could die. Unless there are a lot of dead birds in your area, we would doubt that it died of bird flu. In any case, everyone should be cautious about handling any wild bird or aninal, dead or alive. We recommend that any handling of a carcass entail gloves. The Regal Swan
