Just updating you about our male swan that was killed by a hunter a month ago. The mother and cygnet stayed together at our lake and then a surprise yesterday morning. A male swan showed up at our lake and the female mother accepted him. They began mating and started making a nest. It was such a joyous site for our community. The male is pushing the cygnet away which is natural but hopefully now she will fly and look for her new home. We have been tirelessly researching the mute swan and looking at ways to approach the state to change the laws. We are probably going to go with a petition site like change.org. I have been researching the New York swans case to see what we can follow with. If you have any information that might help it would greatly appreciated.
