Hi Pat

Yes, swan siblings will form a bond with each other, especially around 2 years of age, although we have seen siblings begin to mate at one year of age. So, if you are planning on finding the juvenile or cygnets a new home and to pair with a new bloodline, they should be separated at 9-11 months of age.

On another note, this inbreeding between birds does not have the same genetic problems as with mammals. So, genetic issues are not a problem and if any issues should arise, it would be many years in the future. The Regal Swan
