Hi Catrina

If a bird stops eating, it is a sign that something is very wrong. You need to find a bird/waterfowl/poultry vet that can exam the swan, diagnose the problem, which could be anything from poisoning, parasites, infection, egg impaction if a female, etc., treat the problem and provide supportive care. Without veterinary care, the swan could die. So, this is an emergency situation. Even if a veterinarian is not a bird vet, he/she may still be able to help. If a university has a veterinary program or you have a zoo in your area, they may be able to help you. Please let us know how this works out. The only swan facility we know about in NC is at Sylvan Heights in Swan Neck, NC. They may know a vet in your area. The Regal Swan
